PLACES OF INTEREST

Livermore Falls

Location: Grafton County, New Hampshire

Water Source: Pemigewasset River

Drop: 35 feet

Flow: Year

Directions: Take I-93 north of Plymouth to exit 27 (Blair Ridge) and turn right (east) toward Blair Ridge for .1 mile to Rt. 3. Go right (south) on Rt. 3 for 2.1 miles to the two dirt pullouts on the left and park.

A really neat place to visit, its not a falls per say, but a fast running gourge.  An old log mill still stands as well as an inverted railroad bridge which college students jump off of (look it up on u tube).  Nice little sandy beach and good fishing.

Notes: The trail begins as blacktop between the two pullouts, then becomes sand/gravel about 4 feet wide off to the left angled down to the water. Follow the trail down across the railroad tracks, and continue angled to the left to the falls. Partway down is a fenced-in cement overlook from which you can view the falls. There is a trail from the overlook to the left to a fence on cement for another view. From that there is another trail to the left down to a sand beach and large rocks.

Stinson Lake

Directions: Rt 25 to Main St, 0.4 mi to Stinson Lake Rd, 4.1 mi

You go on a dirt road to get there, and it is very scenic and has a beautiful falls before Stinson Lake.  It has a Old Counry store, clear, deep water, good canoeing and boating fishing.  Hard for swimming because there isn't a real public beach.  Highly recommended.
